Hemos intentado una y otra vez vivir de acuerdo a las expectativas de quienes nos rodean. Quizás nos educaron creyendo que éramos buenos solo si sacábamos buenas notas en la escuela, ordenábamos nuestra habitación, o nos vestíamos de determinada manera. Siempre con el deseo de estar integrados y que nos quisieran, muchos nos pasamos la vida tratando de <encajar>., pero, al parecer, sin conseguir estar a la altura de ello.
Ahora, en recuperación, nos aceptan tal como somos. Nuestro auténtico valor para los demás reside en ser nosotros mismos. A medida que trabajamos los pasos, aprendemos a aceptarnos tal como somos. Y a partir de ahí, somos libres de convertirnos en lo que queremos ser.
Cada uno de nosotros tiene muchas cualidades buenas que compartir con los demás. Nuestra experiencia, compartida honestamente, ayuda a los demás a encontrar el grado de identificación que necesitan para empezar su recuperación. No hay líderes en A.A. excepto cuando se ofrezcan como voluntarios para aceptar la responsabilidad. El trabajo de liderear reuniones grupales, servir en comités, hablar ante otros grupos, hacer trabajo de doceavo paso, difundir A.A. entre los alcohólicos de la comunidad, todas estas cosas se hacen de forma voluntaria. Si no me ofrezco para hacer algo concreto para A.A., el movimiento es mucho menos efectivo. Debo hacer mi parte justa para llevar la carga. AA depende de todos sus miembros para mantenerlo vivo y para que siga creciendo. ¿Estoy haciendo mi parte para A.A.?

Cuando buscas en Dios la fuerza para enfrentar la responsabilidad y estás tranquilo ante Él, Su toque sanador hace que el Silencio Divino fluya hacia tu propio ser. Cuando en la debilidad lloras a Dios, su toque trae curación, la renovación de tu coraje y el poder para enfrentar cada situación y salir victorioso. Cuando te desmayas por el camino o te distraen los sentimientos de inferioridad, entonces confía en el toque del espíritu de Dios para apoyarte en tu camino. Entonces levántate y ve con confianza.
Oración por el día
Oro para que pueda abrirme hoy al toque sanador de Dios. Rezo para no vacilar o desmayarme en el camino, sino renovar mi coraje a través de la oración.

El círculo significa toda la comunidad de A.A. y el triángulo, los Tres Legados de Recuperación Unidad y Servicio. Dentro de este maravilloso nuevo mundo, hemos encontrado la liberación de nuestra obsesión fatal.
A.A. LLEGA A SU MAYORÍA DE EDAD, p. 151
Al comienzo de mi vida en A.A. empecé a participar en los servicios y encontré que la explicación del logotipo de nuestra sociedad es muy apropiada. Primero un círculo de amor y servicio con un triángulo bien equilibrado en su interior, la base del cual representa nuestra Recuperación por los Doce Pasos. Los otros dos lados representan la Unidad y el Servicio, respectivamente. Los tres lados del triángulo son iguales. Según me desarrollaba en A.A., muy pronto me identifiqué con este símbolo. Yo soy el círculo, y los lados del triángulo representan tres aspectos de mi personalidad: físico, cordura emocional y espiritualidad, esta última la base del símbolo. Juntos, los tres aspectos de mi personalidad se traducen en una vida sobria y feliz.
