Muchos llegamos a Narcóticos Anónimos llenos de remordimientos por nuestro pasado. Los pasos nos ayudan a empezar a resolverlos. Examinamos nuestra vida, admitimos nuestras faltas, las enmendamos y tratamos sinceramente de cambiar nuestro comportamiento. Al hacerlo, descubrimos una placentera sensación de libertad.
Ya no debemos negar o lamentar el pasado. Una vez efectuadas las enmiendas, lo hecho queda atrás y desaparece. A partir de entonces, lo más importante ya no es de dónde venimos, sino hacia dónde vamos.
En NA empezamos a mirar adelante. Es verdad, vivimos y nos mantenemos limpios sólo por hoy, pero descubrimos que podemos empezar a tener metas y sueños, y a esperar las satisfacciones que la vida en recuperación tiene para ofrecernos. Mirar al futuro nos mantiene centrados en nuestro rumbo, no en los lamentos ni remordimientos por nuestro pasado. Después de todo, si miramos atrás es difícil avanzar.

Ya que en A. A. no hay reglas, yo me sitúo donde más me conviene, así es que escojo el anonimato. Quiero que mi Dios me utilice a mí, humildemente, como uno de sus instrumentos de este Programa. El sacrificio es el arte de dar de mí generosamente, permitiendo que la humildad reemplace a mi ego. Con sobriedad, yo reprimo el deseo de gritar al mundo “yo soy miembro de A. A.”, y experimento alegría y paz interior. Permito que la gente vea los cambios en mí y espero que ellos me pregunten qué me sucedió. Pongo los Principios de espiritualidad antes de juzgar, de buscar faltas y de criticar. Quiero amor y cariño en mi Grupo para poder desarrollarme.

Antes de comenzar, le pedimos a Dios que dirija nuestro pensamiento. Nuestras vidas de pensamiento se colocarán en un plano mucho más alto cuando comencemos el día con oración y meditación. Concluimos este período de meditación con una oración para que se nos muestre a lo largo del día cuál será nuestro próximo paso. La base de todas nuestras oraciones es: Tu voluntad se hará en mí y a través de mí hoy ”. ¿Soy sincero en mi deseo de hacer la voluntad de Dios hoy?

Respira la inspiración de la bondad y la verdad. Es el espíritu de honestidad, pureza, generosidad y amor. Está fácilmente disponible si estamos dispuestos a aceptarlo de todo corazón. Dios nos ha dado dos cosas, su espíritu y el poder de elección, para aceptar o no, como lo haremos. Tenemos el don del libre albedrío. Cuando elegimos el camino del egoísmo, la codicia y el orgullo, nos negamos a aceptar el espíritu de Dios. Cuando elegimos el camino del amor y el servicio, aceptamos el espíritu de Dios y fluye hacia nosotros y hace que todas las cosas sean nuevas.

Nuestra energía es nuestra energía. Nuestros sentimientos, pensamientos, asuntos, amor, sexualidad; nuestra energía física, espiritual, sexual, creativa y emocional es nuestra.
Podemos aprender a tener límites sanos – parámetros sanos- acerca de nosotros y de nuestra energía. Podemos aprender a guardar energía en nuestro interior y a manejar nuestros asuntos.
Si estamos tratando de escapar de nuestro cuerpo, si nuestra energía se está derramando fuera de nosotros en forma enfermiza, podemos preguntarnos qué está pasando, qué nos está lastimando, qué estamos evitando, qué necesitamos afrontar, con qué necesitamos lidiar.
Luego, podemos hacerlo. Podemos volver a casa a vivir dentro de nosotros mismos.
